Moongdal Toasties

Steps

  • Ground the soaked lentils adding ginger and chilies in a mixer, leaving it in a granulated form.

  • Add onions, chilies, coriander leaves, Salt, red chili powder, thing, and garam masala to the not-so-pounded combination.

  • Cut the bread slices into two equal halves vertically.

  • Spread the mixture on one side of each half-cut bread.

  • Heat the pan and grease it with oil. 

  • Shallow fry the bread with the paste side facing the pan.

  • Adjust the face accordingly, while coating the top layer of the bread with oil.

  • Cook until the sides turn golden brown.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Dhuli Moong Dal (to be soaked and grounded)

  • 1 finely chopped onion

  • 50 gms fresh minced coriander leaves

  • 2-3 green chilies

  • 1 ginger

  • 1tsp dried red chili powder

  • Pinch of Hing

  • 1tsp garam masala

  • 4 slices of bread 

  • Oil for shallow frying

  • Salt to taste

  • Note- Vegetables can be added as demanded.
