Black Pepper is one of the world’s most used spice and was even traded in the olden days.  It is 4000 years old and is native to Kerela in South Western India.  Black pepper is a flowering vine in the family of Piperaceae that is cultivated for its fruit known as peppercorn. Piperine is the compound in pepper that brings the spiciness and is used as a spice or medicine in Ayurveda.  Black pepper is extremely beneficial as it has anti-oxidants, anti-inflammatory, aids digestion and has anti-bacterial properties.
We source our black pepper from Coorg district in Karnataka.
